R EPRESENTATION
DARK BACKGROUND- highlights an intense atmosphere that the programme has therefore outlines the genre of the programme
FONT AND COLOUR- Font appears to be a frosted colour and an old style therefore you could infer that it is set in a previous decade
BLUE ICE KING- highlights the cold atmosphere and possibly how characters are going to be harsh and have 'icy' cold personalities which adds to the intensity
JON SNOW- key character as in the centre of the poster, serious look on his face as though there will be a war or fight
SPECKLES OF WHITE- replicate snow therefore the connotations of cold come through
CONTRAST OF THE TWO PEOPLE ON THE FRONT COVER- the opposite of cold is warm therefore we are lead to believe that the main character is the warmth of the show and potentially the favourite character.
Label language - don't forget denotation and connotation and mention that it's Barthes' theory.
